Why choose me?
My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment for families to learn and enjoy shooting sports and/or defensive shooting. I am not trying to prepare everybody for a zombie apocalypse (although we joke about it frequently), or the next great revolution.
I want you to feel comfortable, and have fun! Ask lots of questions. My classes are based on proven techniques and years of experience. However, your ability to master these techniques is my primary concern. If you don't understand something, or cannot perform a drill the way I demonstrate it, we can work together to adapt and learn.
If you have developed a fear of firearms that you are ready to overcome, we can put together a program of gradual exposure and positive experiences to re-introduce you in a safe and judgement free environment. Nothing is more satisfying than helping students find the excitement in shooting sports and/or the confidence of personal protection!
Why I do it...
I developed a passion for coaching/teaching at an early age. I was a student tutor from grade school through high school, a running coach in college, and an assistant training officer in the US Army. After college I worked as a software instructor for a bit, while looking for a more permanent career path.
I also grew up with a love of shooting sports and hunting. I have been shooting since I was pretty young, getting my first rifle for my 10th birthday. Now, I shoot competitively, as a way to preserve and develop my own skills. I also hunt and shoot sporting clays.
Now, I am combining my passions to share with the next generation of gun enthusiasts, and those who are curious about what we do.
